Osama Bin Laden Killed By Navy Seals in Firefight

Osama Bin Laden was killed not by a drone strike, but up close during a firefight with U.S. troops. He was not living in a cave when he died, but in a million-dollar mansion with seven-foot walls just 40 miles from the Pakistani capital, where U.S. forces killed him Sunday.

The U.S. had been monitoring the compound in Abbottabad for months after receiving a tip in August that Bin Laden might be seeking shelter there. He had long been said to be in the mountainous region along the Afghanistan, Pakistan border, hiding in a cave as the U.S. sought to kill him with drone strikes from above. Instead, he was in a house eight times larger than its neighbors, with a seven-foot wall and valued at $1 million. The house had no phone of television and the residents burned their trash. The house had high windows and few points of access, and U.S. officials concluded it had been built to hide someone.

According to U.S. officials, two U.S. helicopters swept into the compound at 1:30 and 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Twenty to 25 U.S. Navy Seals under the command of the Joint Special Operations Command in cooperation with the CIA stormed the compound and engaged Bin Laden and his men in a firefight, killed Bin Laden and all those with him.

This April 1998 file photo shows exiled al Qaida leader Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan. A person familiar with developments on Sunday, May 1, 2011 says bin Laden is dead and the U.S. has the body.

Two Bin Laden couriers were killed, as was one of Osama Bin Laden's son, as was a woman reportedly used as a shield by one of the men. Other women and children were present in the compound, according to Pakistani officials, but were not harmed. U.S. officials said that Bin Laden himself did fire his weapon during the fight.

One of the U.S. helicopters was damaged but not destroyed during the operation, and U.S. forces elected to destroy it themselves with explosives.

The Americans took Bin Laden's body into custody after the firefight and confirmed his identity. According to a senior administration official, the U.S. is "ensuring it is handled in accordance with Islamic practice and tradition. It's something we take seriously and therefore it's being handled in an appropriate manner."

According to Pakistani officials, the operation was a joint U.S.-Pakistani operation, but U.S. officials said only U.S. personnel were involved in the raid.

watch '16 and Pregnant' Season 3 Premiere Recap video "Jordan"

Two shows return and two shows wrap up their seasons tonight. Glee and 16 and Pregnant are back on the air while Parenthood and Destination Truth finish up. Here's what's on TV Tuesday.

Glee is finally back after a brief hiatus. Gwyneth Paltrow returns while Sue has set her sights on destroying any club that shows any sign of weakness. Sue really needs a hobby. The show starts at 8pm on Fox.

On the season finale of Destination Truth, the crew looks into the Ghosts of Antarctica. What do you suppose you have to do in life to have haunting Antarctica be your afterlife? Perhaps that question will be answered at 9pm on SyFy.

At 10pm on MTV is the third season premiere of 16 and Pregnant. In this week's installment, the pregnant teen is caught in a tug-of-war between her boyfriend and her sister. Poor Jordan.

Finally, the second season of Parenthood comes to a close on NBC. The family deals with the aftermath of Amber's car accident. Max and Adam are in a tiff, Kristina tries to help Haddie, and Crosby and Jasmine try to set up a visit. The show has yet to be renewed by NBC, but it has performed well recently so it is a real toss-up if there will be a season three. Season two ends at 10pm.

Mario Balotelli vs Rio Ferdinand - FA... VIDEO

Mario Balotelli vs Rio Ferdinand - FA Cup Semi -... by UploaderKingHD

The Football Association will study Mike Dean's referee's report on Monday before deciding whether to take disciplinary action against players from Manchester United and Manchester City, following the ugly scenes after Saturday's FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Some United players were incensed after Mario Balotelli approached rival supporters while tugging at the City badge on his shirt; his team-mates had gathered towards the other end of the pitch. Anderson and Rio Ferdinand reacted furiously and attempted to shove the Italian striker away from the sidelines, prompting the City coach, David Platt, and manager, Roberto Mancini, to intervene. Ferdinand was further angered when Balotelli winked at him; the United defender then confronted Platt, asking him to "control his players".

Ferdinand, whose wife Rebecca gave birth to their third child over the weekend, apologised for his part in the ugly scenes via his Twitter account on Sunday though he was still critical of Balotelli's conduct. "If you score a goal and give a bit to opposing fans I kind of accept that, but at the final whistle [you should] go to your own fans and enjoy it, not opposing fans," the centre-half wrote. "If I offended anyone I apologise. Emotions were obviously running high."

"He [Balotelli] was showing his badge to our fans," said Nani. "Anderson just took him out from in front of our fans. Rio was very angry because it is not fair, it was very disrespectful to do that in front of the fans. We were not happy with that."

As the incident took place on the pitch, albeit after the final whistle, the FA's response will lean heavily upon the observations of Dean. The referee could call the confrontation an extraordinary incident or claim not to have witnessed it – both scenarios could invite the FA to investigate. Platt sought Ferdinand out by the team buses after the game and the pair spoke for three or four minutes, the defender reiterating that the coaching staff should have controlled Balotelli. Platt and Ferdinand left the national stadium after shaking hands.

Recently, the FA chose to punish Wayne Rooney retrospectively, after he swore into a television camera on completing a hat-trick against West Ham. The United striker's two-game ban has been served and he will return for Tuesday's trip to Newcastle.

Paul Scholes will miss United's next three matches, including a potentially critical trip to second-placed Arsenal on 1 May, following his dismissal on Saturday. The midfielder's high, studs-up challenge on Pablo Zabaleta, 19 minutes from time, will prompt a three-match ban for violent conduct that will rule the 36-year-old out of games against Newcastle, Everton and Arsenal. Scholes, who has been sent off 10 times in his career, had recently returned from a two-match ban that was earned after he collected 10 yellow cards.

"It was as really bad tackle, very high, over the knee," said Zabaleta. "If it had been any lower my knee would probably be 'gone'. I have pain in my quad, but it was a really bad challenge."

United's chances of emulating their treble of 1999 have been dashed but they can console themselves that they still have a healthy lead at the top of the Premier League and a European Cup semi-final against Schalke to come.

"We are very disappointed but we are experienced enough to forget this game and think about the games coming up," said Nani. "The other trophies we are competing for are more important than this one. If we'd had to sacrifice one trophy from the three this would have been the one.

"We would prefer to win the Champions League and the Premier League. But we must still recover quickly because we have Newcastle on Tuesday and have lots of games coming up after that. We must be ready for them. It's very important we win the next game."

Paul McDonald Voted Off 'American Idol,' Top 7 Remain video

tonight's (Apr. 14) "American Idol," Nashville-based rock singer-songwriter Paul McDonald became the first male contestant eliminated from show's tenth season since fan voting began last month.

'American Idol': Jacob Lusk Stays Out of Trouble, Lauren Alaina Keeps Climbing

McDonald, who fronts the band the Grand Magnolias, made a grand exit from "Idol" with "Maggie May," a song that has come to be closely associated with the singer -- and was requested by judge Jennifer Lopez as McDonald's swan song. Before ripping into the Rod Stewart classic, a smiling McDonald -- once described by judge Steven Tyler as the "epitome of a cool dude in a loose mood" -- told the crowd and judges, "C'mon, don't be sad about this!"

Facing McDonald in the bottom three this week were Haley Reinhart and Stefano Langone -- both of whom, as well as McDonald, have been up for elimination in the past.
McDonald received the least amount of fan votes following his performance of Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock and Roll" from "Risky Business" on last night's movie themes episode. Watch his performance last night belo

Indiana teen arrested for blackmailing girl with nude photo .....watch nude photo

An Indiana high school student was arrested on kiddie-porn charges after he allegedly threatened to post a nude photo of a female student on MySpace because she refused to lend him her saxophone.

The bizarre blackmail attempt emerged Wednesday after the 15-year-old freshman girl's mother reported the incident to Portage High School officials.

After removing the boy from class, school officials and cops found sexually explicit nude photos of the freshman and a second 14-year-old girl on his cell phone, reported the Northwest Indiana Times.

The 15-year-old boy told cops he wasn't dating the girls and they sexted him voluntarily.

He went on to say that his saxophone had broke and the band director told him to borrow one from the 15-year-old girl who wasn't using her instrument.

When she refused to give it to him, the boy told cops, he reminded her that he had a nude picture of her.

The girl says he threatened to post the photo on MySpace.com unless she handed over her saxophone.

The 14-year-old girl said she sent nude photos of herself to several other boys at area schools because she had low self-esteem.

The boy was charged with possessing child pornography and taken to a juvenile detention center.

Portage Township Schools Superintendent Michael Berta said all the students in question will be suspended, and possibly expelled.

"There's guilt on both sides," Berta told NBC Chicago. "Parents must be very attentive to the children that you have, and to their interaction with the evolving technology.

'You're going to die with me,' Lashanda Armstrong told kids before driving minivan into Hudson River

The unhinged mother who drove her minivan off a Newburgh dock and into the Hudson River told her four children that she wasn't leaving this world alone.

"If I'm going to die, you're going to die with me," Lashanda Armstrong told the children before the vehicle sank to the bottom of the river just before 8 p.m. on Tuesday, the only surviving child told authorities.

Armstrong's 10-year-old son, Lashaun, escaped the doomed family minivan - opening a power window and swimming to safety in the two minutes it took for the vehicle to sink.

But as he wriggled out of the window, his mother snatched his pants leg. "I made a mistake," she said before finally releasing the boy, the child told authorities.

After swimming to shore, the dripping-wet Lashaun made it to the road, where he was picked up by Meave Ryan, a good Samaritan who took the boy to a nearby firehouse.

"He was waving his hands, screaming 'Help me!'" said Ryan, 31. "He said, 'My mommy just drove the car into the water.'"

Shivering and barely able to speak, little Lashaun told firefighters how his mother had launched the van into the river with his siblings inside and how, just moments before, she dialed her dad for help, the kids screaming in the background.

"I'm sorry, I'm going to do something crazy," Armstrong said, according to the boy's story.

That prompted a 911 call that brought police to her Newburgh home, but it was too late.

Police wouldn't confirm details of the domestic dispute that preceded the murder-suicide inside the tan van, but neighbors said Armstrong and longtime boyfriend Jean Pierre were frequent fighters in their second-floor home.

Armstrong, who battled with Pierre over his womanizing, had twice asked to get the apartment locks changed in a six-month period - most recently in March, the building landlord said.

Pierre - nicknamed "Prime" - was the father of the three dead children. He began dating Armstrong, 25, when they were in high school.

"They went to the prom together, put it that way," said the dead woman's aunt, Angie Gilliam, who made the futile 911 call.

It was unclear if Pierre, 26, was at the apartment before Armstrong's inexplicable death ride - a six-block drive from her home to a concrete boat ramp and into the river.

A 22-year-old neighbor said she and Pierre had a three-month affair while Armstrong was pregnant last year with her last child, 11-month-old Lainaina.

The baby, along with her brothers Landon, 5, and Lance, 2, died with their mother.

Armstrong knew about Pierre's roaming eye, and it became an ongoing argument.

"There was nonstop arguing late at night - normal kind of stuff," said the neighbor, who later befriended Armstrong. "Why are you back so late? Who were you with? But I can't picture her putting the kids in the car and doing that."

Cops released Pierre on Wednesday night after a day of questioning. He is not expected to be charged.

I have never had plastic surgery' Lady Gaga

When Lady Gaga appears with horns protruding from her face, head or shoulders, just know one thing: She was born that way.

The eccentric performer made that claim in the May issue of Harper's Bazaar during what journalist Derek Blasberg called the only "'tense" part of their interview.

"Well, first of all," she began when he asked how long it takes to achieve the look, "they're not prosthetics. They're my bones."

"They've always been inside of me, but I have been waiting for the right time to reveal to the universe who I truly am," Gaga explained, adding that everyone else was born that way, too.

"We all have these bones!" she insisted. "They're the light from inside of us."

But make no mistake, Gaga isn't suggesting any of her fans should get plastic surgery in order to replicate her unique look.

PHOTOS: STARS WHO TAKE PLASTIC SURGERY TOO FAR

"I have never, ever encouraged my fans or anyone to harm themselves, nor do I romanticize masochism," the 25-year-old said.

"I have never had plastic surgery, and there are many pop singers who have," she went on. "I think that promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification."

And while Gaga is aware her look is often misinterpreted, she said her "little monsters" undoubtedly get it.

"My fans know me. They would never hurt themselves," she said. "And if they have hurt themselves, they come to me and say, 'Gaga, I want to stop, and your music helps me want to stop. Your music makes me want to love myself.' I am in no way promoting sadomasochism or masochism."

But, in the interview at least, the singer does promote the Big Apple after a disastrous temporary move to Los Angeles.

"I had all these No. 1 records, and I had sold all these albums, and it was sort of this turning point: Am I going to try and embrace Hollywood and assimilate to that culture?" Gaga recalled.

"I put my toe in that water, and it was a Kegel-exercise vaginal reaction where I clenched and had to retract immediately," she described. "I ran furiously back to New York, to my old apartment, and I hung out with my friends, and I went to the same bars."

But Gaga isn't about to retreat back into her egg shell anytime soon.

"You can quote me on this," she told Blasberg. "People love you when they think you won't be around for very long, and people hate you when they can't get rid of you. But I'm not going anywhere."

Priest in 3D Trailer and inside story

You may not like CGI creatures, but they're not going anywhere so just deal with it. A new trailer for Priest 3D has popped up online that's rife with the buggers. On the bright side? At least these vampires are not sparkling emo broken-heart shitting douchebags.

Priest is an adaptation of a TokyoPop comic book that is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampire. Paul Bettany plays a warrior priest who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece. It's a 2D to 3D conversion, but don't hold that against it.

Look for more on Scott Stewart's Priest starring Paul Bettany, Cam Gigandet (The Unborn, Pandorum, The Roommate, Twilight), Madchen Amick, Stephen Moyer ("True Blood"), Maggie Q., Christopher Plummer, Brad Dourif, and Alan Dale in theatres on May 13th, 2011.

Synopsis
Set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires, Paul Bettany is Priest, a legendary warrior priest during the last Vampire War, who now lives in obscurity among the other human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities controlled by the Church. But when his 18-year-old niece is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires in the desolate wastelands outside, Priest breaks his sacred vows and ventures out to find her and seek vengeance upon those responsible, especially their brutal leader (Karl Urban). Priest is joined on his crusade by his niece's boyfriend, Hicks (Cam Gigandet), a local outpost sheriff, and Priestess (Maggie Q), a member of his former legion of vampire-killers who has otherworldly fighting skills.

Josh Hamilton's freak injury news video

The Rangers have gone to great lengths to protect Josh Hamilton’s fragile health.

They moved him from center field, where he is a natural, to left, where he can do a little less running and a lot less crashing into things. They told David Murphy he’d have to go back to the bench after he played like a starter for a year. And they gave center field to Julio Borbon, praying he’d improve enough over time to justify the decision.

Center field: Dangerous. Left field: Safe. Got it.

So, how come nobody ever figured out anything about the dangers of DH?

The fact that Hamilton wrecked his shoulder Tuesday was a potentially traumatic turn for what has otherwise been a splendid start for the Rangers. That it happened one at-bat into his first game of the year in the relatively low-stress role of DH underscores the team’s long-term predicament. No matter what they do, they simply can’t protect him enough. Spread down pillows across the field, and he’d probably develop an allergy to feathers. Encase him in bubble wrap, and he’d probably fall on a rake. He’s that injury prone.

It is also why the contract the Rangers negotiated with him this winter, the two-year deal worth $24 million that carries him up to free agency, is likely to be the only long-term contract he ever gets with the Rangers. The rewards are huge. The risk might be even bigger.

When he dove head-first into home plate, trying to tag up on a first-inning foul pop to the third baseman, Hamilton suffered a non-displaced (no dislocation) fracture of the humerus at the top of his right arm. According to Rangers medical officials, the usual recovery time from such an injury is six to 10 weeks. The Rangers are preparing for Hamilton to miss eight. But based on his healing patterns from the past, don’t rule out 10. Or longer.

Bottom line: The Rangers have a world-class athlete in a porcelain body.

"He’s an astoundingly athletic man," Rangers GM Jon Daniels said. "He’s 240 pounds and capable of doing a lot of things that you don’t see many people doing. That combination of size, speed and athleticism puts him at risk for some injury, sure. But how many times have you seen him go head-first and not get hurt. I look at this as a freak thing."

It is a wonder to watch Hamilton on the field. He does so many things so well almost all the time. Even if we are talking about sliding or diving. Just Sunday, he made a pair of great catches with perfect sliding form in left field to help preserve the Rangers’ 3-0 win over Baltimore.

And just before he broke his arm Tuesday, he dived into third with a run-scoring triple to give the Rangers an early lead.

When on the field, he is as close to athletic perfection as you will find. The problem, of course, is keeping him on the field.

There are too many "freak things." If Hamilton comes back in mid-June and plays every inning of every game the rest of the way, he still will end up missing the equivalent of one-third of the season. He’s already missed half of one season (2009) and a month of another (2010) in his first three years with the Rangers. You can’t miss that much time and be a franchise-type player.

When he comes back, he’s going to be faced once again with this dilemma: Keep playing with fearless recklessness and take whatever other injuries are sure to come his way or tone things down and perhaps lose some of the edge that separates him in an effort to stay on the field more.

It’s a tough decision.

But you know what might be tougher: Asking a franchise to commit well over $100 million to a player who possesses Hamilton’s extraordinary skills but comes with his exceptional risk.

During the encounter ... Gloria walks up to the valet, Rockfeller Sorel, and gets in his face over the parking situation. As Gloria verbally unloads, Rockfeller takes an advancing step towards Gloria and bumps her.

Gloria quickly recovers and unleashes the slap heard 'round the world with her left hand -- and then swings her purse at the guy's head with her right hand.

Sorel, clearly upset, takes several aggressive steps towards Gloria ... who then slips and falls while retreating.

Gloria gets off the ground and tries to go after the valet -- but several bystanders get in between the two and break it up.

Gloria was eventually arrested for battery and public intoxication -- and then, according to police, she started talking trash to one of the officers.

We called Gloria's Miami attorneys Christopher Lyons and Sandy Becker -- they declined to comment on the video or the matter at this time.

Meanwhile, the valet has made it very clear he intends to go after Gloria in court.

Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution Season 2 : Episode 1 Recap video

Jamie Oliver tried to open the eyes of the unhealthiest city in America, Huntington, WV. This season, he's set his sights even bigger - sunny Los Angeles, California. But for a city that loves to have the camera's roll, he was met with some strong resistance.

Los Angeles has a healthy lifestyle image, but beneath the glitz and glamour lies a health epidemic spurred by unhealthy school lunch programs and a thriving fast food business.

LAUSD publicly denied him the right to film in any school or talk to their students about the lunch programs. So he's going to get the word out to make the board of education reconsider their decision. This started with a visit to KIIS FM with Ryan Seacrest (producer on the show) to try to get the parents of LA to get him in the schools. They got calls in from across the city from parents, siblings, friends all talking about the poor food options and fast food available in schools.

In Huntington, they set up Jamie's Kitchen where residents can still go to get free healthy cooking lessons and nutritional information. He set up a Jamie's Kitchen in Los Angeles, asking them to bring in their kids' lunches. If he can't go to the lunch rooms, he'll bring the food to him. After seeing packs and packs of processed food, it's the worst he's ever seen even after last season in West Virginia.

It's no wonder some schools have obsesity rates as high as 80%; all the food is made in one central location and then packaged and shipped it out to the schools. Kids are essentially eating airplane food everyday from the age of 4 to the age of 18.

At the kitchen, he did a demonstration to show where meat comes from. He took a live cow and showed what cuts come from what parts of the cow and how much each cut is worth. After marking all the parts, he's left with some fatty pieces that are unfit for making it in to cuts and human meals. Usually it's used for dog food or animal chow, since they are considered unfit for human consumption with a high risk of E. Coli and salmonella.

However, in America, these pieces get turned into "pink slime" through a process of separating the meats, cleaning it with chemicals to get rid of any harmful bacteria, and then ground up again to resemble real food. But, "Pink slime" is allowed in any school in America by the USDA. In his horrifying demonstration, he was able to use a washing machine and house hold cleaning supplies like Ammonia to turn the unusable meat into "pink slime" that looked just like ground beef. This "pink slime" is in 70% of ground beef products, and allowed up to 15% in any patty or meal. It's not listed as an ingredient because it's considered a "process" so they don't have to list Ammonia on the packaging. At the moment, there's nothing on the label to indicate this is in US meat. The only way you can truly avoid "pink slime" is to watch a butcher grind up the meat right in front of you.

As a father of four, this battle against childhood obsesity is personal. This season, he's brought his family along to LA and even his young daughters understand that they reason LAUSD is not letting him in to their schools is because they have something to hide and don't want him to tell the world how bad the situation really is.

At a public board meeting, Jamie once again tries to appeal to the board to let him in to the schools. After his 3 minute spiel, they pass him off to the Head of Food Services and then off to the Director of Communications. It's a round about way to just get him out of the meeting and brush him off. The entire LAUSD institution is shutting him out.

In addition to his work with school's, he's going to be taking a look at fast food in Los Angeles. Fast food has only really been around for the past 60 years, and it started right in LA. The big name fast food chains have shut him out just like LAUSD, but he will be taking a look at Petra's Burgers, an independent chain.

While the owner, Deno, had nothing to hide, he definitely was reluctant to change anything. He wasn't going to take anything off the menu, and he was just fine using sugary syrups to flavor shakes instead of fresh fruit. The goal is to make his menu healthier, not change it completely. But, this restaurant is how his family survives, if Jamie's changes affect his sales it could damage their livelihood.

He got Petra's burgers nutritionally analyzed and they had anywhere from 850 to 1,100 calories. So to reduce the calories, he brought Black Angus meat that was grass-fed and switched out the mayo for a yogurt based tahini sauce. While Deno loved the taste of the burger, the cost is just too much. Jamie's meat was $1.67 per patty, Deno's was roughly that much for an entire pound.

He then tried to change out yogurt for ice cream in the milkshakes, but while it tasted good, Deno didn't consider that a milkshake at all. He can't sell a yogurt smoothie and call it a milkshake. On top of that, he openly admitted that he'd never serve a syrup flavored milkshake to his kids, but he's okay with serving this to his customers. And that right there, is the problem with the American food service mentality.

In attempt to find some good news in LA, he stopped in the California School Nutrition Association Event. The first red flag is the Flavored Milk panel. Funded by the Milk Board, they were trying to say that it's a good thing to have flavored milk in school. But these milks have just as much sugar a soda!

The hostility and stubbornness inspired him to create his own flavored milk panel. He was expecting a huge turn out, but only about 25 people showed. For this demonstation, he filled an entire school bus with the sugar that's in a week's worth of flavored milk consumed in LAUSD schools. It filled the bus to the brim and it was only 1/3 of the way through. When it was all done, 57 tons of sugar filled the bus and created a huge pile surrounding it

The Naked Truth : 4 Celebrities Go Nude for Allure

4 Celebrities Go Nude for Allure :- Cuoco confesses, "I have not told my family about this, and I'll tell you why: Until they see the photos, they won't understand. All a mother or father hears is the word 'naked.' When I told my mom about the shoot, I left out the part about taking my clothes off." The 25-year-old star of The Big Bang Theory says of her preparation for the shoot, "My obsession is yoga, so I was already yogi-ing it every day," she says. "And I did veggies, raw food, and egg whites. So boring!" She was surprised by her own lack of shyness. "I was way more excited than I ever thought I would be. Which made me realize, I'm more comfortable in my own skin than I thought."

BALLS to the WALLS

Two Steps From Hell has discreetly released a new album, but don't get overexcited... it's not Two Steps From Heaven or Eclipse. Balls to the Wall, the new album, features 40 drums and percussion tracks. The style of the album is described as "action/drama/epic". You can listen to it on Extreme Music.

Music Candy has recently released an epic album, The Big Screen, which has been composed by Rich Lewis and features 10 truly epic tracks, with orchestra and choir. I particularly enjoyed "Victory". Listen to the album on Music Candy's site.
Omni Music has also released an interesting album. Guess its name... It's called Epic (that wasn't hard to guess, was it?) It is made of 14 tracks of different styles (orchestral, female vocal, comedy...), composed by various artists: "Sweeping orchestra, pounding drums, and emotional themes that can only be described by one word: Epic. Fourteen tracks with broadcast edits for a truly cinematic experience." Visit Omni Music's site to discover Epic.
